Current detailing is no longer about detailing/ listing of reinforcing steel. Our vast experience means we have considerable working experience of:-

• Detailing, specification of specialised components such as couplers formsavers and bar support systems.
• Specialised installation systems such as Schnell’s Idea welded wire cages, Slip Forming and Bamtec’s slab carpet system.
• Consideration of detailing styles taking into consideration shipping requirements, Health and Safety installation issues, Regional construction variations.

We now offer detailed drawings using your choice of two AutoCAD based concrete detailing products:-

• Advance Concrete:- Our newest technology allows us to first model the concrete geometry. Modelling the geometry allows us to significantly reduce geometric errors as we virtually construct the structure first computer before extracting the elements to detail. Shop Drawings produced are standard 2D format for easy field use.
• RebarCAD/ CADS-RC:- great product for basic 2D detailing. The current standard of many of our US and UK based Clients.

Drawings are provided in both .dwg and .pdf as a matter of standard. All files are transmitted either by email or via our local desk top application GDSPMS (GDS Project Management System) Material listing can be provided in a multiple of formats:-

• Contractual as a document such as .pdf or word formats.
• CAM formats. Right now we can produce a range of outputs for downstream processing including, SteelPAC (SDI), Soule (SLE), ASA, Shear97 etc.

Depending on our current work load and requirements our first submission can be turned around in as little as 48 hours from appointment commission/ receipt of the contract documents.

With such a global mix of clientele we have a number of ways that we charge to satisfy all:-

• Hourly
• Lump Sum

Something that is unique to GDS is the Detailing Partnership scheme approach that is proving popular with many of our small to mid-size Clients. Larger international corporate-based organisations have the financial muscle and expertise to set up and run off shore detailing and engineering facilities allowing them to leverage the lower salary costs and access highly trained technicians making them even more difficult to compete with. With the GDS Partnership Scheme we provide small teams of dedicated detailers that only work for you. You can liaise with them directly via low-cost communications and our own GDSPMS allowing you to lever the same benefits of the big boys WITHOUT the cost or expertise requirements.

With such a wealth of knowledge it’s not surprising that we are often used as consultants for the development of technology or the implementation of Best Practice processes for Detailing. Many of the standard formats of data interchange such as SLE, SDI and the use of formats such as CSF etc were completed with input/ consultation with ourselves. We may not own the technology but we are proud of our involvement in their development.

Unlike other training operations we only train single companies. No large training schools with 10 – 20 trainees with a single standard course format regardless of experience and ability. Our training is unique in that it is tailored for individual company needs. In the real world many companies often buy technology on the back of a newly appointed projects with a requirement to get up to speed in the shortest possible time. Our training can be structured to utilise the project as a back ground to develop skill sets to approach a real time requirement as an alternative to simple basic software commands. On larger projects our technicians can also start the project with a progressive handing over to your newly-trained teams as their expertise develops. Training can be completed either on site at any location around the world or through the Internet.
